Jeremiah (Hebrew: ə Yirməyāhū) is a Jewish prophet and biblical figure mentioned in the Old Testament. He is one of the great prophets of the Jews and the Christians. He was born near Jerusalem, in Anathoth, and came from a wealthy priestly family.
